Principal Investigators
The Directors of the CSR provide overall, administrative and scientific leadership to the CSR.
The goals of the Principal Investigators of the Cores and Scientific Projects are to help tackle the complex biology of SUDEP both through basic and clinical research, create SUDEP resources for current and future research, and to improve clinical outcomes through translational approaches.

Samden Lhatoo MD, FRCP (Lon).Case Western Reserve University Administrative, Autonomic and Imaging Biomarkers of SUDEP Dr Lhatoo is the Dorothy Blair and Robert Daroff Chair in Neurology at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and Director of the Epilepsy Center at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is an adult epileptologist and electrophysiologist with a longstanding special interest in the mortality of epilepsy, particularly SUDEP. Dr Lhatoo's research has centered around the epidemiology and pathomechanisms of SUDEP, with a particular emphasis on multi-modal physiological seizure parameters and the use of engineering and informatics tools in data analysis. His work focuses on the identification of SUDEP high-risk biomarkers and the development of evidence based SUDEP risk indices for use in clinical practice. |
